Sculptures made from recycled wood that is both applied and carved, and held in place by pigmented grout.

Michael Ferris Jr. was born in Chicago, IL in 1969. Originally trained as a painter, he received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1991 and his MFA from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1996. He was an artist in residence at the Roswell Art Center in New Mexico, and has received grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the George Sugarman Foundation, among others.
