Caterina Silenzi, born in Porto San Giorgio in 1977, lives and works in Fermo, Marche. Silenzi has studied Sculpture and Photography at the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Macerata, and achieved a Master at the Bilbao University.
She use Raku ceramic, an ancient alchemic technique which has been rediscovered by Caterina.
Raku ceramics originated in Japan during the 16th century. The crafting of this type of ceramic represents a close bonding with nature, as the primary elements are essential to the creation process: earth, air, fire and water.
