Michelangelo Pistoletto was born in Biella, Italy in 1933.
Michelangelo Pistoletto is an italian artist known for working with mirrors. This instalation called ''Trans Border, Trans Limits, Trans Gression'', is on view at the Luhring Augustine Gallery in New York. It features life size screen printings of people on mirror. The mirrors are often placed one in front of another to create other dimensions to the exposition.
Pistoletto is one of Arte Povera’s most significant protagonists. His iconic mirror paintings and installations that have earned him rapid and lasting international recognition, represent the artist’s dual interest inconceptualism and figurative representation.
